NEW MayorsManor contest: Win LA Kings signed jersey or stick

April 14, 2012 By John Hoven

NHL playoffs 2012It’s time to take the MayorsManor First Goal Contest to a whole new level. For the past few seasons we’ve served up things as a ‘guess who scores the first goal for the Kings’ and win a great prize – like t-shirts, tickets to a game, autographed pucks, etc.

Well, how would you like to win a jersey or stick signed by the entire LA Kings team?

Sound good? Here’s the details…

Starting today, we’re launching a First Goal Game for the remainder of the NHL Playoffs. Like teams chasing the Stanley Cup, this will be a test of endurance – as it will run all the way through the final game of the playoffs. Each day, we’ll post the games scheduled for that particular day. Your job is to guess who will score the first goal in each game, not for each team. However, to make things a little easier, you can take a player from BOTH teams.

For example, here’s what an entry would look like for the games scheduled today, Saturday 4/14/2012:

Washington (Ovechkin) at Boston (Chara)
Ottawa (Neil) at New York (Boyle)
San Jose (Clowe) at St. Louis (Backes)
Chicago (Kane) at Phoenix (Whitney)

The maximum number of correct entries today would be four, one for each game. Again, you’re trying to pick the first goal in the GAME, not one for each team.

We’ll track the number of correct entries and post an occasional leader board. The MayorsManor reader with the most correct submissions at the end of the NHL playoffs will win their choice of an LA Kings team signed jersey or stick!

Ready, go! Enter below to get started now.

NOTE: This new contest will not take the place of the usual contest run exclusively during LA Kings games.  Those will continue separately.
