Contest: First Goal – 4/21/2012 playoff games

NHL playoffs 2012We’re one week into the playoff edition of our First Goal Contest (announced last weekend).  If you haven’t jumped into the action yet, don’t worry.  You still have time.  As of yesterday’s leaderboard, nobody had more than a few correct guesses, so you still have a chance – just get started with putting some picks in for today’s FIVE games!

Because this version is slightly different than the contest we run exclusively during Kings games, please READ CAREFULLY.

The traditional MayorsManor First Goal Contest will continue – where throughout LA’s first round series vs. Vancouver, if you correctly guess the Kings player who scores first, you could win an autographed puck from Dustin Brown. Entries for that contest are accepted in a different article (see here for the game four post as an example).

This edition of the First Goal Game will run through the remainder of the NHL Playoffs and here’s how it works… Each morning we’ll post the games scheduled for that particular day. Your job is to guess who will score the first goal in each game, not for each team. However, to make things a little easier, you can take a player from BOTH teams.

For example, here’s what an entry would look like for the games scheduled today, Saturday 4/21/2012:

Washington (Ovechkin) at Boston (Chara)
New Jersey (Parise) at Florida (Sturm)
Ottawa (Neil) at NY Rangers (Boyle)
San Jose (Thornton) at St. Louis (Arnott)
Chicago (Toews) at Phoenix (Whitney)

The maximum number of correct entries today would be five, one for each game. Again, you’re trying to pick the first goal in the GAME.

We’ll track the number of correct entries and post a weekly leaderboard, here’s the most recent one.

The MayorsManor reader with the most correct submissions at the end of the NHL playoffs will win their choice of an LA Kings team signed jersey or stick!
