Contest: First Goal – double game 7s and leaderboard

Double game 7s coming up tonight and we’re still looking for somebody to break out of the pack in our First Goal Contest.

If you missed the original announcement, we’re giving away an LA Kings signed stick or jersey this post-season.

Basically, each morning we’ll post the games scheduled for that particular day. Your job is to guess who will score the first goal in each game, not for each team. However, to make things a little easier, you can take a player from BOTH teams.

For example, here’s what an entry would look like for the games scheduled today, Thursday 4/26/2012:

Ottawa (Neil) at NY Rangers (Richards)
New Jersey (Parise) at Florida (Versteeg)

The maximum number of correct entries today would be two, one for each game.

We’ll continue to track the number of correct entries and post an occasional leaderboard. The person with the most correct submissions at the end of the NHL playoffs will win their choice of an LA Kings team signed jersey or stick!

Here’s a quick look at the leaderboard through games played on 04/25/2012:

6 correct entries – Four people tied (Chelsea, Colo Kings Fan, Griffin, Janelle)

5 correct entries – Two people tied (James, Nicole)

4 correct entries – Two people tied (Ruben S, Steve)

Worth noting is the fact that only one person has had one correct guess over the last three days. So, it’s still anybody’s race and nobody can really be considered the favorite at this point. In fact, if you haven’t played yet, jump in now – you still have a great chance to win!
