Contest: First Goal – round two and updated leaderboard

NHL playoffs 2012As the NHL gets ready for round two of the Stanley Cup playoffs to begin, here’s a look at our current leaderboard in the MayorsManor First Goal Game:

6 correct entries – Four people tied (Chelsea, Colo Kings Fan, Griffin, Janelle)

5 correct entries – Two people tied (James, Nicole)

4 correct entries – Two people tied (Ruben S, Steve)

Those results are for all games played through end of day yesterday. Now, you might be saying – ‘Those look pretty similar to earlier this week?!’ And you’re right. We’ve only had one correct entry in the last four days.  That’s because a lot of the guys scoring goals haven’t been from the usual list of suspects.

So, if you haven’t joined the contest yet, now is a great time to jump in. You still have a legitimate shot at winning because nobody is running away with things and there’s a lot of hockey left to be played in the post-season.

If you’re not exactly sure how it works, here’s the original announcement. However, it’s pretty easy to figure out. Basically, each morning we’ll post the games scheduled for that particular day. Your job is to guess who will score the first goal in each game. The MayorsManor reader with the most correct submissions at the end of the playoffs wins their choice of an LA Kings signed stick or jersey. Sound good?

Well, then enter below. To make things a little easier, you can take a player from BOTH teams. For example, here’s what an entry would look like for the only game scheduled today, Friday 4/27/2012:

The maximum number of correct entries today would be one, as there’s only one game being played. Again, you’re trying to guess the first goal in the game – not for each team.
