As part of our preview for tonight’s Kings v Ducks game we played Word Association with four Los Angeles players, asking them to react to the names of four Anaheim players. These were all done one-on-one, so no player heard what the other guy said – which is interesting when you compare their answers…
Dustin Brown on:
Ryan Getzlaf – big
Corey Perry – slick
Teemu Selanne – awesome
Sheldon Souray – bigger
Jeff Carter on:
Getzlaf – passing, his passing is just ridiculous
Perry – little rat
Selanne – it just looks like he’s 20 out there
Souray – strong, heavy shot
Alec Martinez on:
Getzlaf – big
Perry – skilled
Selanne – all-star
Souray – hard shot
Jake Muzzin on:
Getzlaf – big
Perry – skilled
Selanne – also skilled
Souray – hard shot
If you’re wondering why we didn’t use Bobby Ryan as one of the four choices, come on – you know it would have just been a giant love fest.
We’ll have more Kings-Ducks coverage all day, including our First Goal Contest later this morning. Also, we’ll post some additional thoughts from Carter about Perry and what it will be like to play against a bunch of guys he trained with during the lockout.
Until then, check this article out – it’s from a few years ago, where we asked several Kings’ players to recall their favorite moments playing in Anaheim.
