Ontario Reign Projected Lineup for Retro Night vs San Diego; Plus Notes on Byfield and Turcotte

December 10, 2021 By MayorsManor Staff

What was supposed to happen Tuesday in Bakersfield will now take place on Friday night in Ontario.

Following the Condors needing to postpone their game vs. the Reign earlier this week, Kings prospect Quinton Byfield will finally make his return to the ice tonight at Toyota Arena vs. the Gulls.

For one night only, the Reign will be wearing a special Reverse Retro-type jersey, which we leaked here:

Sneak Peek: New Reign Throwback Jersey Coming Next Weekend

Before getting to the lineup Ontario is expected to use vs. San Diego, it’s worth taking a quick step back for a moment and reviewing what the Reign were able to accomplish in their last game played.

Last Saturday, things turned out as well as they possibly could have — especially considering the team were without their top three centers (Alex Turcotte, TJ Tynan, and Jaret Anderson-Dolan) heading into action.

Puck drop is at top of the hour.

Reign win tonight. #BookIt

With Akil Thomas, Byfield, and Tynan back in the lineup now, things are generally trending up with the forwards — sans a few exceptions. Jaret Anderson-Dolan played for the Kings on Thursday night vs. Dallas and he remains up with the big club. Further, Alex Turcotte was a little banged up at practice last Friday, so he was held out of the Bakersfield game for precautionary reasons. He’ll remain out for tonight and tomorrow, as well.

Tonight will be the first of back-to-back games vs. the Gulls, featuring their common home-and-home format… where the action shifts to San Diego tomorrow night.

ONTARIO REIGN PROJECTED LINEUP vs. SAN DIEGO on 12/10

Burke – Tynan – Frk
Madden – Byfield – Vilardi
Tkachev – Thomas – Fagemo
Wagner – Sutter – Dudas

Other options include: Doty, Johnson and Sodergran

Moverare – Spence
Wolanin – Grans
Phillips – Strand

Other options include: Gaunce and Kasastul

Villalta (starter)
Sparks

Puck drop is scheduled for 7pm tonight in Ontario and the game can be viewed on AHL TV.

Wagner has fallen off the cliff. Going from the NHL to a forth line minor league player. Yikes
