What a time to be alive.
What’s old is new again.
History has a way of repeating itself.
You get the idea. Fresh on the heels of the NHL’s recent success with their Reverse Retro line of jerseys (and other merchandise), MayorsManor has learned that the Ontario Reign will wear an all-new throwback jersey of their own on Friday, December 10 vs. the San Diego Gulls.
That game is also scheduled to be Local Hero’s Night at Toyota Arena and the Reign wanted to find a special way to honor their roots while tying in with a community that has supported them so strongly since inception of the franchise.
If memory serves correctly, this will only be the second time they’ve worn a jersey featuring their ECHL crest since converting to an AHL team in 2015
Although the official design hasn’t been released yet, as is the tradition at MM, we worked with designer Justin Cox to mock up what we believe the jersey will look like based on intel received.
These jerseys will be worn by the players that night and auctioned off during the first and second periods.
As noted, in a Kings roster article yesterday, Quinton Byfield may be making his season debut on Friday, as well.
For now, let’s all remember one of the greatest moment in that original Ontario Reign jersey…
