On Saturday we gave you pictures and extended video of Anze Kopitar’s first game in Sweden, where he was playing on a line with his younger brother Gasper. They won that contest 5-4 in a shootout, after rallying from two goals down late in the third period.
Earlier today they returned to action – this time on the road – taking on Patrik Berglund (St. Louis Blues) and his Västerås teammates. Mora IK was again successful, winning 6-2. Anze picked up his first goal overseas and added three assists, finishing the game with a plus-2 rating, four shots on goal and winning 10-of-17 faceoffs (59%). Gasper also had a goal in the first period.
Interesting tidbit, on hand to watch the game was recently-retired Detroit Red Wings legend Nicklas Lidstrom.
