The game hasn’t even started yet and MayorsManor already has the first batch of photos from Anze Kopitar’s debut with Mora IK today in Sweden…
Special thanks to Petter Fritz, our correspondent in Sweden, for this first batch of shots. We’ll have a more detailed report from the game available later today.
UPDATE:
Mora was trailing 4-2 late in the third period and they came back to tie it by scoring two goals in the final few minutes of regulation. The first of those goals was assisted by Anze and Gasper (their first points in the game). While they both finished the game with a minus-1 rating, Anze led all skaters with seven shots on goal. He also won 13-of-25 faceoffs (52%). To the surprise of nobody, Anze was selected as one of the players to get a turn in the shootout. Although he didn’t score, Mora did win the game and the hometown team went home happy.
Here’s a photo (albeit a little blurry) of Anze just after he took the puck in the shootout.
Mora’s next game will be a road contest on Tuesday, then they’re back home on Thursday.
Great suff, but when can I see him playing in LA again?
