Rinse and repeat.
For the third time in less than a week, Ontario and Coachella Valley will faceoff on Wednesday night. Following a 4-2 Reign victory at home last Friday, Kings prospect Sammy Fagemo helped the club add a 3-2 shootout road win over the Firebirds just two days ago.
This has helped push Ontario to a 6-0-1 streak over their past seven games overall and improves their season points percentage to .622, good enough for third in the Pacific Division. Simultaneously, the losses have Coachella Valley at .739, no longer tops in the AHL (Calgary is at .740).
For tonight’s rematch — and the sixth of eight meetings between the two SoCal clubs this season — coach Marco Sturm is expected to go with Cal Petersen as his starter in net. Once again, forward Alex Turcotte looks to sit this one out after missing time recently due to an injury suffered on this play last week.
Based upon Sturm’s alignment at morning skate, we’re expecting the same lineup he deployed last time out.
