Following a three-game road trip, the Ontario Reign finally are back home on Friday night. It won’t be a long stay, though. They head off to San Diego for a Saturday night road tilt.
For their brief stop in the Inland Empire, it will be the AHL’s newest team as their opponent, the Coachella Valley Firebirds — who have proven to be anything but an expansion team thus far. Seattle’s farm team has a .779 winning percentage; tops in not only the Pacific Division, but the entire league.

Based upon the alignment used by coach Marco Sturm at morning skate earlier today, it appears forward Alex Turcotte will not be suiting up against the Firebirds. From what we’re hearing, he won’t play tomorrow either (week to week, lower body).
For tonight, Turcotte is expected to be replaced at center by veteran Nate Thompson. Additionally, with Toby Bjornfot called up to the NHL, look for an adjustment on defense.
