Comments from Jake Muzzin after the Kings 5-2 win over the visiting San Jose Sharks…
– On the overall game: “Big win, divisional game. You know, they took it to us in San Jose, and we answered right back. So it’s a good feeling.”
– On if there was a lot of talk about answering back before the game: “You don’t have to talk too much about it. Guys know. We went in there and we didn’t play our greatest. We had to pedal a little bit, but we had a little feeling in here that a little payback was…You know the guys came out with a great first period, which was crucial. Big penalty shot by Bernie, and away we went.”
– On if Clifford’s fight changed the momentum: “Yeah, you know he (Douglas Murray) had a big hit on Kopi earlier, and Cliffy answered the bell. That’s what teammates do. It was a great fight. He gave up a lot of size, but you know he’s got a big heart. So it was good to see.”
– On if he notices a difference playing in front of Bernier or Quick: “They’re both great goalies. (Maybe) little tendencies, but nothing major. They’re both great goalies and they start a lot of crucial plays for us. Whether it’s breakouts or big saves like that. So they’re both great goalies, and when you make a mistake; sometimes they’re there to save you. So it’s great.”
