Kopitar likes how Kings rebounded after coming out flat

February 15, 2013 By John Hoven

More post-game quotes following the LA Kings 2-1 win over the Columbus Blues Jackets on Friday night…

– Anze Kopitar on getting the win: “It feels good. After a trip like we had I think it was very important to get the two points in here tonight.”

– On slow start to the game: “We were….Maybe we were a little flat, but we picked it up pretty quick. You know we weren’t giving up a whole lot of chances so that was good. The shots we did give up were from the outside and (Jo) took care of that so…It was nice to get that goal late in the second, and (that) jump started us a little bit.”

– On his comfort level increasing re: playing more with Simon Gagne: “He makes responsible, strong plays all over the ice. He gets in on the forecheck really quick so I thought as a result of that tonight we spent some time in the offensive zone creating and stuff. So that’s obviously a good sign.”

– On his dad being at the the game tonight, fresh off winning the Olympic qualifier with Team Slovenia: “I think he enjoys it here. I don’t think he really wants to shovel snow all the time, and coming here it’s a little bit different.”
