Contest: First Goal – 4/23/2012 playoff games

Another day, more NHL playoff games…

So, the playoff edition of our First Goal Contest (announced last weekend) keeps going.

We’ve noted this several times, but will do so again just for good measure – this is a different version than the traditional MayorsManor First Goal Contest (that runs exclusively during LA Kings games).  Here, you’re competing in a tournament of sorts, that lasts all the way through the NHL playoffs.

Each morning we’ll post the games scheduled for that particular day and your job is to guess who will score the first goal in each game (not for each team). However, to make things a little easier, you can take a player from BOTH teams.

For example, here’s what an entry would look like for the games scheduled today, Monday 4/23/2012:

NY Rangers (Richards) at Ottawa (Carkner)
Phoenix (Whitney) at Chicago (Sharp)

Thus, the maximum number of correct entries today would be two – one for each game. Again, you’re trying to pick the first goal in the GAME.

We’ll track the number of correct entries and post a weekly leaderboard, here’s the most recent one.

At the end of the playoffs, the MayorsManor reader with the most correct submissions will win their choice of an LA Kings team signed jersey or stick!

It’s that easy, so enter below to get started now.
