Ontario’s brief stretch of three straight road games will come to an end in San Jose on Wednesday night. Ironically enough, the Reign are coming off of back-to-back 3-2 shootout victories. Can they complete the hat trick tonight before heading back to SoCal?
For coach Marco Sturm and his (mostly) group of LA Kings prospects, this will also serve as a rubber match with San Jose. In four previous contests vs. the Barracuda this season, they’ve alternated wins and losses, with each team going 1-1 on home ice.
Look for Cal Petersen to get the start in net for Game 5 of the eight-game season series. He’ll enter play having had a good stretch of five games recently.

Up front, expect a similar set of lines to what Sturm has been running of late. This includes Kings prospect Alex Turcotte centering a line with Martin Chromiak and Aidan Dudas on his wings. Despite Jakob Chychrun trade rumors swirling in recent days, we’ve been told management has yet to instruct the Reign to sit anybody out.
Defensively, there could be some slight shuffling, with the projection below based upon Tuesday’s alignment at practice.
