For the first of seven times prior to Opening Night on October 11, the Kings will play an exhibition game to help get them ready for the 2022-23 season. And this one is on the road.
Puck drop is set for 4pm PST. Indications are, this game will only be available via radio. Neither team is offering a televised broadcast.
NOTE: Today’s projected lineup is subject to change, as a few lines had to be pieced together in a different manner than what coach Todd McLellan had been using the past few days. For example, Quinton Byfield and Arthur Kaliyev have been practicing / scrimmaging with Alex Iafallo. However, the latter is not expected to play tonight. Thus, that line needed a new winger.
LA Kings Projected Lineup vs San Jose Sharks

Pinelli – Tynan – Chromiak
Lemieux – Lizotte – Grundstrom
Ward – Thomas – Madden
Bisson – Roy
Bjornfot – Clarke
Nousiainen – Grans

Additional Roster Notes
Early Sunday morning, the Kings made the first of what will be several rounds of training camp cuts.
LA’s 2022 Draft pick, forward Kaleb Lawrence, was returned to Owen Sound (WHL). Additionally, five camp invitees were released to their junior clubs: Eric Alarie, Riley Fiddler-Schultz, Landon Kosior, Marc Lajoie, and James Stefan.
They now have 57 players remaining in camp.
After tonight, LA’s next preseason game will be Monday in Las Vegas. This year’s first preseason game in SoCal will be Wednesday vs. the Sharks — at Toyota Arena, dubbed The Empire Classic.
