With the Kings recent exit from postseason play, attention now turns to next season – with three key areas of focus: the schedule, a new Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey, and potential roster changes.
Regarding the latter, we previously did a deep dive on which 23 players could see action for the Kings come opening night (see link below). And now comes word of a possible date for home game No. 1 of the 2022-23 season:
Here's a little tidbit for you…
Hearing LA Kings home opener will likely be on 10/14.
Who would you like to see them play?

UPDATE: Based upon some newer information made available to Mayor’s Manor after that tweet, it now appears the Kings home opener is more likely to be played on Thursday, October 13 — and vs. a Pacific Division opponent (we’ll have more on this story during the next Kings Of The Podcast).
Prior to the official start of the regular season, NHL training camps are expected to begin in early September. San Jose will host the (now) annual Rookie Faceoff showcase the weekend of September 16-18, followed by six preseason games. LA’s only two preseason games that have been announced at this time are the newly launched Empire Classic (vs. the San Jose Sharks in Ontario on September 28) and Frozen Fury 2022, which is scheduled for October 6.
Look for more schedule information to be released in the weeks ahead.
As for the team’s new Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey, official information on that project isn’t expected until later this summer.
