Jonathan Quick earned is fourth victory of December on Thursday night and seems hell bent on reminding everybody that he still considers himself an elite goalie. With 41 saves against the Panthers, it was the most shots he had faced this season. Over his last five starts he’s had a shutout, an overtime loss, and a trio of one-goal games. For the season, he’s carrying a .935 save percentage — better than his .921 in 2017-18 and even exceeding his .928 in 2011-12.
In the Kings 4-1 win vs. the Florida Panthers, defenseman Christian Wolanin was again a last minute add to the lineup, following Drew Doughty entering protocol.
Anze Kopitar had recorded nine points in the previous 13 games, yet hadn’t scored a goal since mid-November. That changed vs. Florida, as he potted what ended up being the game winning goal early in the second period off a Sean Durzi pass.
