LA Kings Projected Lineup vs. Florida Panthers; Updated with Key Changes

December 16, 2021 By MayorsManor Staff

Coming off an overtime loss to the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, the Kings stayed in the state of Florida for a game scheduled with the Panthers on Thursday.

Doughty has entered covid protocol

Tonight’s lineup is expected to feature a few changes following the activation of Blake Lizotte from protocol and Mikey Anderson seemingly recovered from the illness that sidelined him last time out. Lias Andersson could draw back in for the first time since December 6 at Vancouver. If so, Trevor Moore would most likely be the odd man/forward out.

The only remaining lineup question revolves around who will start in goal. Until further information is available, we’re projecting Jonathan Quick to remain the starter.

LA KINGS PROJECTED LINEUP vs. FLORIDA PANTHERS on 12/16

Kempe – Kopitar – Brown
Iafallo – Danault – Arvidsson
Andersson – Kupari – Grundstrom
Lemieux – Lizotte – Kaliyev

Other options: Moore
NOTE: Athanasiou has been moved to IR (returned to LA for evaluation)

Bjornfot – Anderson
Maatta – Roy
Wolanin – Durzi

Other options: N/A
Protocol: Doughty

Quick (starter)
Petersen

On the Panthers side of things:

The @FlaPanthers are now dealing with Covid issues. As of now their game vs @LAKings tonight has not been postponed. Kings entire group has just been tested and awaiting results. @FAN590

KINGS MILESTONES WITHIN REACH

Anze Kopitar – needs 46 points to pass Dave Taylor for third on the Kings all-time scoring list

Dustin Brown — 9 goals away from passing Bernie Nicholls for fifth place in Kings franchise history

Drew Doughty — 14 games away from playing in his 1,000th NHL regular season game

Puck drop is scheduled for 4:00 pm PST tonight and the game will be on Bally Sports Network.
