I couldn’t agree with DB more! If you have to babysit Vilardi and his head-case issues then just drop him down to the Reign until you can throw him into an eventual package deal. If he really is as talented as you say (and I agree, skill wise), SOMEONE will take him for a 3rd line player where he’s not playing against the top D’s in the league.
Also, NO ONE in their right mind would pick Lizotte off of waivers. I can’t wait until (for different reasons) he and Maatta are long gone!

I disagree with your opinion of Lizotte. The kid works hard and he does well for the minutes he plays. I would bet he gets picked up after playing so many games recently and the team got wins. He reminds me a smaller John Tonelli, one of favorite all times Kings’ player. I agree with you about Maatta.

I used to be anti-Lizotte cuz he isn’t the greatest finisher and doesn’t rack up a lot of points. But I didn’t grow up playing hockey so Even though I’ve been hard core Kings fam since 1985, I must concede I often under-estimate “role players” value to a team. I catch myself being obsessed by replacing role players that don’t rack up points in favor of those that rack up points. Lizotte draws SOOOO many penalties for the Kings, more than any other player. He’s a gritty pest, a good forechecker and anytime there is a collision between Lizotte and a bigger player…Refs almost always penalize the bigger player on the other team. Lizotte is decent face off guy and a responsible defensive player. That said, he doesn’t need to always be in the lineup. I think playing him in like 55/82 games would be great ! Problem is with so many players in our system he will probably go on waivers and could get picked up by another team ?

Good show! It helps me get through my work day. I would be good with a trade of Vilardi, next season’s first round pick and a prospect like Fagemo for Chychrun. That would clear a forward roster spot and allow the team to move away from Maata. I don’t expect Edler to be back next season either so Chychurn could fill out the top 4. Also, I don’t think Brown will be back either. I love what Brownie did for the Team and I’ll be forever thankful but if he’s back, the team will lose another valuable player off waivers or via a trade.
