Winnipeg is already on their second trip to Southern California this season and picked up a huge win late in the game in Anaheim on Tuesday. So I guess we’re gonna keep doing this with our prospects. We have young talent coming up and instead of showing patients we bring them up and start yanking them in and out of the lineup. Let the takes play. If they showed you in spring training that they had the ability the organization needs to show some patience. The tykes will figure it out or they won’t. But for the love of god give them a run of games to show they belong. These young guys have far more upside than a Lizotte or Grundstrom.
We have done this same nonsense with our prospects for decades. Give them 20 games, not just one or two.
Lizotte & Grundstrom are not going to get us to the next level. The tykes are going to have to. Stop impeding their progress with the back and forth silliness.
What’s going on with Lias Andersson? I thought I had read a while ago that he was being activated, now I see he is still IR? Could sure use him… He and Vilardi had great chemistry… without him, I haven’t seen much from Gabe!
Andersson just returned to the ice. Has been practicing with the team this week. Should be cleared for action soon.
I truly believe that Blake is a good old school hockey man. I fear that his time is long past though. It is obvious that the Kings are building a roster based on old school concepts such as valuing veteran presence and experience over analytics.
As we have seen from MLB and the NBA this path is disaster. For example we are now paying Matta like a 2nd pair dman but utilizing him as a depth guy.
We either need to build an analytics department under Blake or replace him with an analytically minded GM
