It’s time to take a lap around the globe and check in on the LA Kings prospects playing in various leagues. The following reports are for games played through end of day Sunday, October 17th.
ONTARIO REIGN (AHL)
Due to the Ontario Reign featuring a large volume of LA Kings prospects, a select number of them will be featured in this season’s trackers; players featured will rotate, based upon their performance for the week.
The Reign played twice this week, dominantly winning a scrappy game over the San Diego Gulls 5-2 in their season opener and then falling 3-2 in a shootout to the brand new Abbotsford Canucks.
Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Center (41st overall in 2017)
2021-2022 Stats: 0 goals, 1 assist, plus-1, 0 PIM in 2 games played
JAD picked up a primary assist over the Gulls after he won a face-off in the offensive zone back to Moverare who would snipe the goal.
Aiden Dudas, Left Wing/ Center (113th overall in 2018)
2021-2022 Stats: 1 goal, 0 assists, plus-1, 0 PIM in 2 games played
Dudas scored the empty-net goal against the Gulls to go up 4-1, which apparently drew the ire and the stick of Gulls Captain Sam Carrick. The high-stick to an unsuspecting Dudas knocked him over and started a scrum.

2021-2022 Stats: 1 goal, 0 assists, plus-1, 0 PIM in 2 games played
Fagemo would add a powerplay goal after Dudas’ empty netter, tipping a shot on net into the goalie for a rebound that he smacked into the net. His goal would start yet another scrum in the closing moments of the San Diego game.

Alex Turcotte, Center/Left Wing (5th overall in 2019)
2021-2022 Stats: 1 goal, 0 assists, plus-2, 2 PIM in 2 games played
Turcotte was the Gulls favorite target Saturday night, receiving the majority of Carrick’s anger after he intentionally (?) high-sticked Dudas and later was nearly tackled after picking a fight with the Gulls goalie following Fagemo’s goal by trying to take the goalies stick. Against the Canucks, Turcotte tied the game at one by tipping in a pass following a drive towards the net.

Jacob Moverare, LH Defenseman (112th overall in 2016)
2021-2022 Stats: 1 goal, 1 assist, plus-3, 0 PIM in 2 games played
Moverare would extend the Reign lead over the Gulls to three with a laser of a wrist shot from the top of the left circle that found the upper right corner of the net. He also added a secondary assist later in the game.

Lukas Parik, Rapid City Rush, Goalie (87th overall in 2019)
Parik was sent to the ECHL where he will join the Rapid City Rush, which opens play on October 22nd.
Some Ontario Reign roster moves in advance of their season opener on Saturday night…
Hearing LA Kings top goalie prospect @Parik302 (Lukas Parik) will start out with ECHL Rapid City. Should give the 20yr old plenty of opportunity to play heavy minutes in his first pro season.

CANADIAN JUNIOR HOCKEY (OHL)
Martin Chromiak, Kingston Frontenacs, Left Wing (128th overall in 2020)
2021-2022 Stats: 2 goals, 4 assists, plus-2, 0 PIM in 5 games played
Chromiak had five points in three games this week, including a goal and two primary assists. His first assist came as the result of a battle he won behind the net, sending the puck to the slot for 2022 top prospect Shane Wright to put in (the two are tied in points and are linemates). His second assist would come on the powerplay, feeding the slot after faking a one-timer that pulled a defender to him. His goal came on the powerplay, where he would receive the puck at the top of the left circle which he quickly stopped before dropping to his knee to unload it into the top right corner of the net with a slapshot.

Francesco Pinelli, Kitchener Rangers, Center (42nd overall in 2021)
2021-2022 Stats: 3 goals, 3 assists, plus-2, 0 PIM in 3 games played
Pinelli had another big week, starting with being named captain of the Rangers. Kitchener played once this week, a 5-1 win over the Sarnia Sting, where Pinelli sent a saucer pass from down low to connect with his winger on the other side of the net for a primary assist. He wasn’t done yet, the captain went to work on the penalty kill by stripping the puck from a forward trying to make it out of his own end and then sent a pass over to his winger, who was unable to catch it cleanly. Pinelli jumped on the loose puck and danced from right to left avoiding stick checks the whole way before sniping it into the top right corner.
The #OHLRangers have named Francesco Pinelli (@CePinelli71) the club’s 2021-22 team captain.
Arber Xhekaj, Mike Petizian, Declan McDonnell and Reid Valade will also be part of the leadership group as the team’s rotating alternate captains.

I have a really good feeling about Chromiak and Pinelli. We probably won’t see them until 23/24 at the earliest but the prospect pool for the Kings is deep!
