Did I hear DB say that Kopitar and Brown don’t forecheck?
I was the fitness coach for the kings when Steve played. He was like almost all hockey players a great guy. I think his brother who was a very tough guy played a few games for the kings.
Jack Carlson played for the North Stars and Blues, never the Kings.
Jeff Carlson was largely a minor leaguer and is probably the player you’re thinking of. He played for the Phoenix Roadrunners in the late ’70s, but that was in the PFL and before the IHL version of the Roadrunners were an affiliate of the Kings from 1989-97. Believe his only brush with the Kings organization would have been four games he played for AHL Springfield in 1977-78. At that time, the Indians were the Kings top farm team (from 1977-80).
Thanks!
I met Steve Carlson’s brother Jack during one summer in Virginia, MN as I was visiting my aunt there. (My mom and her siblings were born/raised there.)
Went drinking with one of my cousins along “The Trap Line” (short for trapeze) as all the bars are one after the other along Virginia’s Main Street. Definitely something I won’t forget as a life-long (since ‘67!) Kings fan.
