Manchester Monarchs’ Battle Of The Playoff Beards

Just two days away from the start of the 2015 AHL Calder Cup Final, coach Mike Stothers had his Manchester Monarchs on the ice Thursday for one of their final practice sessions leading into Game 1 against the Utica Comets on Saturday. For decades, hockey players have become famous for one playoff tradition that is near and dear to many fans – the playoff beard. Almost two months into their post-season push, the facial hair is out in full force in the city affectionately known as ManchVegas.

After practice, MayorsManor caught up with five players we felt had the best beards going right now. Instead of naming one player’s beard the best of the bunch, we’ve opened up the voting to our readers. Of course, to aid in your decision making process, we have provided pictures of each player and their long whiskers…
