LA Kings 2014 first-round pick Adrian Kempe scored again in Game 4 helping Manchester win 6-3 in Game 4 of the Calder Cup Finals against the Utica Comets. After the game Kempe spoke with Mayor’s Manor.
On the overall game for the Monarchs:
“We had a really good game, probably our best of the series. We came out really focused from the start and we prepared for same start last game when they came out really hard. I think we had a really good game, we worked hard the whole game.”
On if this was the game he expected Utica to play:
“Yeah, as I said, we were prepared for them to come out hard as they did last game. I think we just played our game, and that’s the best game we want to play, and that’s the best game.”
On how he feels on his game after scoring in the last two:
“I feel good, yeah I had a couple of chances today too. I felt pretty good. I think I skated pretty well and had a lot of opportunities. It was nice to bring it home there in the last period”
On his long season in Sweden then on to Manchester:
“Yeah, of course it’s tough it’s been a really long season starting in August. so it’s been a really long season. I feel a little bit sore. I have to take care of the body and eat well, and sleep well, and warm up, and everything. I feel good when I get out there, but after the game I feel a little bit more tired than like in the beginning of the season. I just try to take care of my body and do my job.”
On the confidence in scoring three goals in the last two games:
“Yeah, I feel pretty good. As I said, the last couple of games I think I’ve played pretty good. I’ve got a couple of chances, like every game, but I think I learned to score more and more. I got two last game and I felt pretty good in to the game today. It was nice to have one today too.”
On Nick Shore:
“Great player, great center, but really good defensively and really good offensively too. We talk on the bench and out on the ice too, so he’s helped me out a lot. He’s a great player.”
