Comments from Kings forward Tyler Toffoli following the team’s 4-3 loss in Game 5 to the Anaheim Ducks…
On if the Ducks were trying to play more physical in Game 5 than the previous two games:
“No, it’s playoffs. It’s always rough.”
On the intensity of Game 5:
“I think we had to play desperate. We were desperate tonight. Just have to tighten up a little bit and we’re going to win the next game.”
On what went wrong in the second period:
“A couple breakdowns. They scored on the power play. A couple tough breaks got away from us a little bit. We just have to tighten up and we have to do better.”
On what was said after the second period:
“We have to be better. We have to be able to score. We have to tighten up, we have to win. It’s do-or-die now.”
On the Kings shots on goal:
“Yeah, we got a lot of shots but we have to get in front of the net. You see all of our goals, we’re shooting when the goalie is screened and those are how we score goals.”
On if the Ducks winning at home gives them confidence going back to Staples Center:
“I think we have to win no matter where it is. We’re down in the series and it’s time to win.”
On if coming back after being down against the Sharks gives them confidence:
“Yeah, I think we know how to play desperate. We played better tonight but it’s not good enough. We have to win, we have to bear down on our chances. We have to win.”
