POLL: LA Kings 2013 Draft

June 29, 2013 By John Hoven

Up on the homepage right now we have an in-depth preview for the LA Kings’ 2013 NHL Draft, where we also reviewed GM Dean Lombardi’s history of making at least one trade on each selection weekend since taking over in 2006.

So, he’s entering this year’s event with 10 total draft picks over the seven rounds. As explained here, he’s very likely at some point to package a few picks and move up several slots…he’s also known for trading a late round pick or two to the following year.

At least one of his current NHL roster players is also expected to be dealt on Sunday. Again, as reviewed here.

Just for fun then, how many total drafted players (new draftees, not acquired via trade…this isn’t a trick question) do you think Lombardi ends up leaving New Jersey with?

Poll closes at the conclusion of the first round.

For what it’s worth, earlier today we put the over/under at seven.

There is no way deano keeps all ten don’t think we make it back in the first round but I do think we get another second round. Heard a few rumors surrounding Toffoli and I can’t see him moving anywhere he is young talent and cheap right now so with our cap problems he doesn’t move

You may want to stop reading wherever you heard that rumor. Toffoli is among the untouchables on LA roster. He’s not going anywhere.

Kings Of The Podcast: S2, E6 with Warren Rychel

Warren Rychel was one of the most popular Kings in the early to mid-90s, especially coming off the team’s run to the 1993 Stanley Cup Final, where he posted six goals and 13 points to lead all NHL rookies in playoff scoring. A few years later, Rychel won a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche. […]
