LA Kings v Vancouver Canucks potential playoff schedule

April 8, 2012 By John Hoven

Few things were decided as of late last night, other than the Kings and Canucks would be playing in the first round of the playoffs…and that Vancouver will have home ice advantage.

While there is the possibility their best-of-seven series will open up with games in Vancouver on Thursday/Saturday, things may be leaning towards the Wednesday/Friday option due to the need for a back-to-back set the following week.

Thus, the opening round series could look like this:

Game 1 at Vancouver – Wednesday, April 11
Game 2 at Vancouver – Friday, April 13
Game 3 at Los Angeles – Sunday, April 15 (evening game, due to daytime basketball)
Game 4 at Los Angeles – Wednesday, April 18
Game 5 at Vancouver – Thursday, April 19
Game 6 at Los Angeles – Saturday, April 21 (could be day or night game)
Game 7 at at Vancouver – Monday, April 23

It’s also possible that the Mana concerts in LA (scheduled for April 19, 20, 25) and/or the Coldplay concerts in Vancouver (scheduled for April 20, 21) could be moved. If so, that would create a little more flexibility with the dates.

The NHL will officially announce the first round schedules for all teams at 10am PST today.

UPDATE: The official schedule is now posted here.
