Adding to their list of veteran NHL signings expected today, the Kings are believed to have agreed to a one-year deal with veteran forward Mats Zuccarello. According to information tweeted by TSN’s Chris Johnston, it will be an incentive-based contract carrying a $1M base plus bonuses.

Zuccarello is listed at 5-foot-9 and has played over 900 NHL games, primarily with the Wild and Rangers. He’s averaged about 15 goals and 40 assists each of the past three seasons. Last year in Minnesota, he put up 54 points in 59 games — including 21 points on the power play.

This depth move continues what GM Ken Holland hopes will be a fruitful summer for LA, as he works to reshape the Kings roster for new head coach Peter Laviolette.
