Through four games of the 2023-24 NHL season, LA coach Todd McLellan has pretty much seen things develop as expected. The Kings offense has been largely lethal, while the goaltending has been an adventure at times.
All in, the team is pretty much back to even after winning both games of their road trip to Winnipeg and Minnesota. Thursday night’s 7-3 victory over the Wild was highlighted by four goals in the opening period — coming from Carl Grundstrom, Vladislav Gavrikov, and a pair via PL Dubois.
In the second period, Trevor Moore recorded his fourth goal of the season. It also gave him goals in three straight games (the longest goal streak of his career) and was his 110th point (44+66=110) as a member of the Kings, breaking a tie with Long Beach native Matt Nieto (47+62=109, with San Joae) for the most points scored by a California-born skater for a California-based team in NHL history.
