SCOUTING REPORTS

From Hockey Prospect:

Offensively, Ziemmer was a perfect match to complement fellow NHL Draft prospect, offensively gifted center Riley Heidt. Ziemmer is a beast down low to win battle with a combination of strength, puck protection and good puck skills in small areas. The area that makes Ziemmer a great complementary player for skilled players is his underrated playmaking abilities in the offensive zone. After winning/protecting pucks down low, he’s good at finding players inside with his passing in dangerous scoring areas. Although he does most of his work down low, the shooting is the main offensive weapon is Ziemmer’s game. He owns a heavy and accurate wrist shot. He’s good at shooting through traffic and at finding open space to uses it.

From Elite Prospects:

Watching Ziemmer is also an IV drip of (often unpenalized) violence. He throws reverse hits with the puck and crushing hits along the boards without it. Crosschecks, nudges, and non-stop always being in the way are the subtler ways he ensures opponents know he’s on the ice.

From McKeen’s:

He is a dual-threat offensive winger who is equally adept as a shooter and a playmaker, as evidenced by how he eclipsed the 40 marker for both goals and assists. His success in both of those areas, however, comes from the same foundation: his magnificent puck skills. He has an almost unnatural feel for the puck, corralling and maneuvering it with precision and ease, and he can do so both in tight to his body or held out from it. He also has impeccable timing with how he delays to draw in opponents only to cleanly sweep the rubber around them or guide it through their triangle. There is also a lot to like about how he reads and feels the play in the offensive zone. He is an above average powerplay threat and knows how to play productively with skilled linemates.

HIGHLIGHTS

Kings are over the moon with Dvorak at No. 54 (obviously, as he could have gone higher).

Yannetti indicated third rounder Koehn Ziemmer was in consideration for the second round pick if Dvorak wasn't there. Once he improves his skating a bit, will be a beast. Tough, tough kid.
