For the second consecutive night, Samuel Fagemo was the hero in the shootout, as the Reign erased a deficit in the third for the second straight game to defeat the Silver Knights 3-2.
After being down by two at the end of the first period, Ontario fought back with a goal in the second and third before winning the game in a shootout.
Within the first two minutes of the game, Henderson found themselves ahead of Ontario, as they capitalized off a defensive zone turnover from the Reign. The Silver Knights extended their lead to a pair after they banged home a loose rebound in the dying seconds of the period, however the play went to a review. Upon a lengthy review, it was confirmed that the puck crossed the line prior to the end of the frame.
In the second period, Ontario got off to a good start, as they were able to generate better scoring chances than they did in the opening frame. The Reign finally cashed in when Martin Chromiak wired one off the left post and in on the power play to get within striking distance.
Just 1:36 into the final frame, Tobie Bisson fired one from the left point past the screened Henderson goalie to tie it at two. After the Reign goal, they had three power play opportunities, yet they were not able to convert, sending the game into overtime.
After no one found the back of the net in overtime, the game was headed into a shootout. In the shootout, no one was able to beat the opposing net minder, until Fagemo ended the game with the shootout winner.
Matthew Villalta made 37 saves on his way to earning his eighth win of the year.
