Sometimes, it’s not about the journey, it’s about the destination.
For the Ontario Reign, they were just looking for a sign of life. Something positive to hang their heads on.
After having previously dropped four games to the Calgary Wranglers this season, coach Marco Sturm’s group just wanted to turn the tide. They didn’t really care much for how they did it or who helped them achieve their goal of earning a victory. It was all about ‘Just Win Baby,’ as the Oakland Raiders famously said.
And the Reign did just that on Wednesday.
However, things didn’t look too good for the first 55 minutes…
No problem, though. A lineup change here and there. A few late goals. That’s all it really took.
WILD ending up in Calgary:
Austin Wagner SHG with 5 minutes remaining in P3 made it a one goal game, as Ontario trailed 2-1…
Lias Andersson tied it 2-2 with about 2min remaining in regulation…
Then, Andersson 🚨 OT GWG
