Ontario Reign Projected Lineup vs. San Jose Barracuda; Time to Turn the Page

January 6, 2023 By Scott Coffman

Losing streaks are the key pregame theme heading into Friday night’s matchup between the Reign and visiting Barracuda.

For Ontario, they are looking to get up off the mat after dropping five straight games. Meanwhile, San Jose just ended an eight game skid with a victory on Wednesday.

Coach Marco Sturm has had little time to tweak his lineup on the ice over the past few days — largely due to prescheduled team events, like the annual Reign Gala. Thus, lineup information below is a little sketchy, at best.

After sitting out earlier week vs. Bakersfield, we’re expecting forward Andre Lee to draw back in. He’ll most likely slot alongside Samuel Helenius as LW4.

Given the frequent rotation Sturm has utilized with defenseman Kim Nousiainen, he’ll likely see action on the blueline. This is also made somewhat necessary by the fact Jacob Moverare is up with the Kings.

ONTARIO REIGN PROJECTED LINEUP vs. SAN JOSE BARRACUDA

Andersson – Tynan – Madden
Ward / Quine – Turcotte – Fagemo
Dudas – Thompson – Wagner
Lee – Helenius – Chromiak

Björnfot – Spence
Nousiainen – Allard
Bisson – Grans

Petersen
Villalta

Game scratches: Gaunce, Goulbourne

Recalled to NHL: Kupari, Moverare

Returned to ECHL: Inamoto

Out injured: Thomas, Doty

Puck drop is scheduled for 7pm PST tonight and the game can be viewed on AHL TV.
