Everybody surrounding the Ontario Reign can breathe a little bit easier at the moment, coming off a win in Coachella Valley a few days ago. Now, instead of talking about a losing streak, the attention has turned to winning their second game in a row. And for Wednesday night’s matchup in Henderson, coach Marco Sturm could have a more potent lineup to present.
While nothing is confirmed just yet, there have been positive signs with Alex Turcotte. After missing two games — and listed as day-to-day — his return could come as early as tonight vs. the Silver Knights. LA’s prized prospect was a full participant at practice yesterday and took shifts on the top line. Should he draw in, he would be a welcome sight for Sturm, who’s been running a little thin at center lately.
Big forward Nikita Pavlychev has been recalled from ECHL Greenville and there’s a good chance he’ll see some action soon. He arrives having put up 39 points (20G, 19A) in 31 games with the Swamp Rabbits.
Defensively speaking, we’re expecting Kim Nousiainen to somehow find his way back into the staring six.
