On the season, Ontario is 0-3 vs. Calgary. After dropping a two-game set in Canada last month, the Wranglers arrived in Ontario a few days later and took another game from the Reign.
In one of those ‘history repeats itself’ type segments, the Reign and Wranglers will kick off a back-to-back series in Calgary on Tuesday and will then travel to Ontario for a third game this weekend.
With some key players still up in the NHL on recall by the Kings, coach Marco Sturm has his hands full filling out his lineup card. Forward Nate Thompson has skated several times recently, yet isn’t prepared to return just yet. Ditto for defenseman Helge Grans. This leaves Sturm with largely the same group he used last time out. One potential option is to give Tyrell Goulbourne an opportunity to draw back in.
Between the pipes, goaltender Cal Petersen is expected to get the start.
The below projection is primarily based upon the lines and D pairings used in practice yesterday.
