Perhaps there are two different LA Kings teams this season. There’s the group who shows up to beat top-tier teams like Tampa Bay, Toronto, and St. Louis. Then, there’s the ‘other’ Kings squad, who finds ways to lose games to bottom feeders like Vancouver, Chicago, and Ottawa.
Sure, coach Todd McLellan’s squad earned a point on Sunday. That isn’t the story, though.
Senators are tied for the second worst record in the NHL. They haven't won a one-goal game this season.
They just beat the Kings 3-2 in OT.
LA is such a difficult team to figure out this season.

They lost to a Senators team they had no business losing to.
With these type of missed opportunities, the Kings are letting valuable points slip away. Points that they’ll likely wish they had come March and April, when things get really rough.
Below are select highlights from the game:
Additional Post-Game Notes:
— Gabe Vilardi was a late scratch. He’s said to be day-to-day with an upper body injury.

— Arthur Kaliyev had two power play goals.
If they start turning Kaliyev loose on the PP, Jim Hiller will come out looking like a genius.
