Coming off a road trip that saw the Kings drop two of three games, they were looking to start off a four-game homestand with some positive momentum on Saturday night vs. the visiting Florida Panthers.
Mission accomplished, although it wasn’t easy.
Entering the second period trailing 1-0, the Kings had an offensive explosion during the middle stanza -thanks to goals from Rasmus Kupari, Trevor Moore and Viktor Arvidsson. Florida eventually tied things up on two separate occasions in the third period… until Gabe Vilardi potted his ninth of the season with about three minutes remaining in regulation, which stood as the game-winner.
Below are select highlights from the game:
Additional Post-Game Notes
All of the talk after things ended had to do with a scary moment involving Matthew Tkachuk and Jonathan Quick…
Kings win 5-4
Back at it again Tue vs Minny
But…
The bigger note is a rematch with Tkachuk and the Panthers in Florida on January 27. Circle it on the calendar.
