Things aren’t going so well for the Ontario Reign right now. With their fifth straight loss on Saturday afternoon in Henderson, coach Marco Sturm has to be wondering what buttons to push to get his team back on track.
There’s plenty of high-end talent at his disposal for Sunday’s rematch with the visiting Silver Knights, including: Brandt Clarke, Quinton Byfield, and Alex Turcotte. What’s unclear as of now is the availability of fellow Kings prospect Akil Thomas. He left yesterday’s game early with an apparent injury. Given all the extra players Sturm is trying to juggle, we’re not expecting Thomas to play.
Further, as noted in yesterday’s pregame lineup article, Andre Lee and Kim Nousiainen have found themselves in a rather steady in-out rotation. After both missed Saturday’s game in Henderson, they will most likely be back in for the rematch on Sunday afternoon.
In net, Matt Villalta had Game 1, so look for Pheonix Copley to get the net in Game 2 of the weekend series.
