Another game, another Gabe Vilardi goal, and another Kings victory. That’s what went down on Tuesday night in Nashville. Below are key highlights from LA’s shootout win:
Post-game Notes
— Gabriel Vilardi notched his fourth goal of the season and ended with his third multi-point performance, the most by any Kings skater. On top of five points in his last three games, Vilardi was also credited with the shootout game-deciding goal.
— After potting two goals in 67 games last season, defenseman Matt Roy recorded a pair of goals in a single period on Tuesday night. He now has three goals on LA’s current road trip and tied a single game career-high in Nashville with six shots on goal.
— Cal Petersen stopped 30-of-33 shots and all three Nashville shootout attempts to earn his second victory of the season. It also marked the first victory by any team in a shootout this season.
— Carl Grundstrom led the Kings with a season-high six hits.
— LA went 5-for-5 on the penalty kill. They one-upped their AHL affiliate, as the Reign went 4-for-4 on the PK at home in Ontario.
