In life, you don’t always get what you want. This holds true for Mick Jagger and NHL coaches alike.
For Kings bench boss Todd McClellan, though, Saturdays 4-2 victory over the visiting Toronto Maple Leafs was pretty much right on target.
Following Thursday night’s loss to Winnipeg, he had asked for his players reel in their run-and-gun approach, favoring more of a disciplined approach to defense.
This time out, the goals came from familiar faces in Adrian Kempe and Gabe Vilardi, while netminder Cal Petersen and the defense stood tall.

Safe to say, tonight's Dia De Los Muertos warmup jerseys were a hit. Seven players are already up over $1000 in the @LAKings Care Foundation auction.

McLellan said they used last year's two game vs TML as a blueprint coming in. Noted they played a tight checking game in TOR and won. Then played run-and-gun in LA and lost.
Added… For the most part the guys got it done tonight. Good sign. Now we need to work on consistency.
