Projected Lineup: LA Kings at St. Louis Blues, Plus Byfield Update

October 31, 2022 By Scott Coffman

Heading out on a road trip coming off a win at home tends to put a little pep in your step. And that’s exactly what the Kings had when they boarded a plane for St. Louis on Sunday. Unfortunately, they did not have forward Quinton Byfield with them.

LA Kings kick off 3-game road trip tomorrow night vs. the Blues.

This morning's practice was cancelled. However, a few players still skated – including Clarke and JAD.

Quinton Byfield did not fly to STL today. May still join trip in progress. McLellan will likely update tmrw.

After being a late scratch on Thursday due to being ill, the 20-year-old center went on to miss Friday’s practice and Saturday’s game, as well. His return date has yet to be established. From what we understand, Byfield is still experiencing flu-like symptoms. Yet, if he feels better soon, it is possible he joins the team mid-trip.

As for his absence in the lineup, Rasmus Kupari filled in at 3C for coach Todd McClellan last time out, logging 8:22 of ice time and finishing the night as a plus-1. For now, he’s expected to remain on LA’a third line.

On defense, Brandt Clarke could return to the lineup today after sitting out Saturday’s game against the Maple Leafs. If so, it would mark Game 9 of his NHL journey. More on the Kings immediate plans with the 19-year-old blueliner can be found at the link below… right after the Halloween article.
