Building on some news we shared during the most recent Kings Of The Podcast episode, look for details surrounding this year’s Reverse Retro jersey to be announced by Adidas and the NHL in the coming week or so. As we first reported more than a year ago, the plan was to create a second version in this collection, built off a white jersey base with purple and yellow accents. The key remaining question was, which crest would they use? Throughout the process, we’ve continued to work through various sources to gather key information regarding what was in the works.
REVERSE RETRO 2.0 FAN VOTE
Let’s now transition into getting a pulse on which design fans prefer:
OPTION 1 – White Gretzky shield with purple stripes
OPTION 2 – Purple Gretzky shield with purple stipes
OPTION 3 – The ’67 Shield with purple stripes
OPTION 4 – The ’67 Crown with yellow stripes
OPTION 5 – The ’67 Crown with purple stripes
As always, thank you to MM artist Justin Cox for pulling the above concepts together.
This poll will close on Tuesday, October 4 at 9am.
ADDITIONAL REVERSE RETRO 2.0 INFORMATION
From what we understand, the Kings will wear their new Reverse Retro 2.0 Jersey approximately 4-6 times, with all games coming before the All-Star Game in late January.
One of those games will be on New Year’s Eve vs. the Philadelphia Flyers at home in Los Angeles. Look for a game in mid-November to be targeted as the jersey’s on-ice debut (possibly Thursday, November 10 vs. Chicago?).
The latest intel we have suggests the Kings will wear this new Reverse Retro jersey with the same purple pants and gloves featured in the original Reverse Retro uniform kit. However, they will most likely utilize white socks and a white helmet this time around.
Taking all of the information we’ve gathered regarding the LA Kings Reverse Retro 2.0 jersey, we’ve worked with ALo Images to create two mockups of what the upcoming uniform kit may look like…
