On Day 2 of LA Kings Dev Camp, there were some drills, then some more drills, followed by a scrimmage. Yes, it was more of the same. Prospect Sammy Helenius was one of the four players to score, with recent sixth round pick Jared Wright also finding the back of the net.
For a look at the full roster and this week’s schedule, see our previous article here.
DAY 2 NOTES and QUOTES
Good news…
Kings prospect Ben Meehan didn't lose any teeth in the scrimmage yesterday. Tooth is loose, but should be salvageable. Busted lip was the official damage. pic.twitter.com/jUGjczD1LO

Juho Markkanen welcome to the #ArtyParty
Kaliyev almost killed Markkanen with a shot that knocked his mask off… pic.twitter.com/yE1xLVrICa

How much swag does @brandtclarke55 have?
Dude rolls into Dodger Stadium for his first @Dodgers game the other night. First inning, he catches a ball that @redturn2 tossed into the stands.
He reached over @benmeehan14 to snag it, "sorry, bud."#tweetblue pic.twitter.com/ZoD5XTgtKc

Kings prospect @CePinelli71 on wearing the C for @OHLRangers last yr — There's pressure that comes w/ being a leader on a team. It's about just staying composed and being really focused w/ your team. It was a really good learning experience; helped me grow as a player, for sure. pic.twitter.com/9FkWU1phkb

Kings goalie prospect @juhomarkkane is playing in loaner gear. His regular equipment seems to be stuck somewhere between Dallas and LAX.
Fortunately, he brought his mask as carry-on luggage. pic.twitter.com/Qc3j5s8x0V

After @CePinelli71 handled himself just fine, was quick to chirp @alaf_14 before his first chat with MM — "Don't be nervy."
(Note to self: We may need to get this guy on the podcast)

More Laferriere:
"There are big names in this locker room. You just have to go out there and compete against them and try and stick out. That's all I'm trying to do."
(FWIW – His play on the ice supports it. He's been one of the more noticeable players in drills and scrimmages)

Björnfot on what he took away from watching the Kings playoff games — It's a different game between the regular season and playoffs. So, I know I need to play harder and be prepared for those games and those moments. pic.twitter.com/n82XXJVTB4

Björnfot went on to say that Matt Roy was somebody he looked up to this past season, helped mentor him… Including having him over for dinner — "He made tacos, simple."
