The teams will now faceoff for another pair of games, coming back-to-back on Friday and Saturday. Both clubs have plenty to play for, as Ontario currently only sits three points back of first-place Stockton; meanwhile, Colorado is fighting to hold on to home-ice advantage in the first round.
Speaking of playoffs, we have some scheduling news to pass along. Should the Reign finish in second place, they’ll host the seventh seed in round one. That best-of-three series is scheduled to be played exclusively in Ontario. Game 2 of that series would be designated as a ‘home’ game for the seventh seed. Most likely, that would mean the Reign would host at least two of those games on May 3, 4, and 5. Should they overtake Stockton for first place, none of this would apply, as the first place team receives a bye into the second round this year.
