LA Kings Projected Lineup vs. Minnesota Wild; plus Update on Brock Faber

April 10, 2022 By MayorsManor Staff

Are the Kings really a better road team this season?

They’re about to answer that question in a big way. After a season where most of the Pacific Division teams had played an uneven amount of games, things have leveled out entering the final stretch.

LA has gone 20-9-6 away from Crypto.com Arena this season. However, their most recent stretch of 10 games overall has been rather disappointing, with just a paltry 4-4-2 record. Additionally, they’re in Minnesota to take on a Wild team that is red hot of late — posting a 7-1-2 record over their last 10 games — and is a stellar 24-7-2 at home.

This is crunch time for the Kings, as they will need to pick up some points on this road trip against Minnesota, Chicago, and Colorado.

Without a morning skate before a mid-day game, today’s projection is more of a guess than usual.

One final note to pass along, Kings GM Rob Blake is on the road trip and Mayor’s Manor editor John Hoven reports Blake will be meeting with Faber on Sunday to gather his preliminary thoughts regarding what’s next in his career. Faber and the Minnesota Golden Gophers made it to the NCAA Frozen Four, yet they lost last Thursday night in the semifinals. Will he stay in school another year — where Minnesota would once again be considered a championship contender — or will he turn pro and join the Kings organization? Stay tuned.
