Although it certainly feels like Game 80 of the 82-game regular season, if you’re also sensing you didn’t get your full feel of Kings-Ducks this season, there’s actually a pretty good reason.
The cross-town rivals have only played three times thus far this season, and tonight will cap their four-game season series. Through the years, Anaheim and LA have typically played each other way more often. However, through league expansion, four games appears to be the new norm; it’s been that way since the 2018-19 season. It’s certainly different than the way it was over the first 25 years of the rivalry.
Heading into what will be Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf’s last game in Downtown LA, the Kings will look to stay with the same lineup they used to defeat the Blackhawks.
Here’s a thought — could this be Dustin Brown’s last regular season game in Crypto.com Arena? It’s possible.
