Despite sitting second in the Pacific Division, the Reign have a single win in their past six games. Fortunately, it came against the Grand Rapids Griffins earlier this week. On Sunday afternoon, the two teams will close out their season series at Toyota Arena.
Ontario’s weekend didn’t get off the best of starts, as they dropped a 5-1 game to rival San Diego on Saturday. The Gulls had previously beaten them 4-0 just two weeks ago. After today, the Reign have 12 games remaining in the regular season, including three vs. the Gulls and a pair vs. the first-place Stockton Heat.
One positive thing did come out of last night’s game — Akil Thomas recorded his first goal of the season.
