LA Kings Weekly Prospect Tracker, Week Ending February 20, 2022

It’s time to take a lap around the globe and check in on the LA Kings prospects playing in various leagues. The following reports are for games played through end of day Sunday, February 20th.

ONTARIO REIGN (AHL)

Due to the Ontario Reign featuring a large volume of LA Kings prospects this season, each tracker will feature a select number of them on a rotating basis – largely culled from key performances for the prior week.

The Reign had a rough outing against the Condors, losing 5-1. They rebounded with back-to-back wins over the Gulls, winning 4-3 in both games.

Jaret Anderson-Dolan, Center (41st overall in 2017)

2021-2022 Stats: 18 goals, 15 assists, plus-5, 29 PIM in 36 games played

JAD registered an assist against the Condors and continued his climb to the 20-goal mark against the Gulls, scoring off of a defender attempting to block his pass.

Rasmus Kupari, Center ( 20th overall in 2018)

2021-2022 Stats: 2 goals, 1 assists, minus-1, 4 PIM in 7 games played

Kupari picked up his first assist of his AHL season by teeing up Vilardi for a one-timer.

Tyler Madden, Center (68th overall in 2018)

2021-2022 Stats: 13 goals, 15 assists, plus-12, 12 PIM in 40 games played

Madden continues to produce in his rookie season, adding a goal and an assist against the Gulls.

Jordan Spence, RH Defenseman (95th overall in 2019)

2021-2022 Stats: 2 goals, 31 assists, plus-12, 24 PIM in 39 games played

Spence continues to rack up points, adding three assists this week. Currently tied for second, he sits five points back of the defensemen scoring lead.

Jacob Ingham, Greenville Swamp Rabbits, Goalie (175th overall in 2018)

2021-2022 Stats
AHL-Ontario Reign: 4.29 GAA, .861 SV % in 5 games played
ECHL-Greenville: 3.22 GAA, .895 SV % in 10 games played

Ingham started against the Condors but was relieved after allowing five goals on 17 shots.

Matt Villalta, Goalie (72nd overall in 2017)

2021-2022 Stats: 2.62 GAA, .914 SV % in 25 games played

Villalta would carry the Reign for the rest of the week, making 12 saves on 12 shots in relief of Ingham and then stopping 42 of 48 shots from the Gulls to earn the wins.

ECHL

Lukas Parik, Goalie (87th overall in 2019)

2021-2022 Stats
AHL-Ontario: 3.50 GAA, .893 SV % in 4 games played
ECHL-Rapid City: 2.57 GAA, .921 SV % in 21 games played

Parik backstopped the Rush in a 5-4 win and a 3-2 SO loss. He made 50 stops on 56 shots.

CANADIAN JUNIOR HOCKEY 

OHL

Brandt Clarke, Barrie Colts, RH Defenseman (8th overall in 2021)

2021-2022 Stats: 10  goals, 40 assists, plus-21, 18 PIM in 40 games played

Clarke now has a five point lead in scoring by defenseman thanks to his two goal, two assist performance this week. He showed off his offensive prowess with his second goal, a backhand after driving into the slot.

Martin Chromiak, Kingston Frontenacs, Left Wing (128th overall in 2020)

2021-2022 Stats: 20 goals, 27 assists, plus-9, 8 PIM in 35 games played

Chromiak remains out with an injury but is expected back Monday, February 21st.

Francesco Pinelli, Kitchener Rangers, Center (42nd overall in 2021)

2021-2022 Stats: 13 goals, 20 assists, plus-3, 12 PIM in 31 games played

Pinelli returned from injury in a 6-3 loss to the Sarnia Sting. He was a minus-1 and had two SOG.

BCHL

Braden Doyle, Penticton Vees, LH Defenseman (157th overall in 2019)

2021-2022 Stats
BCHL-Penticton: 2 goals, 16 assists, 6 PIM in 15 games played
NCAA-Boston Univ.: 0 goals, 1 assist, even plus/minus, 0 PIM in 8 games played

Pentiction played four times this week, winning two and losing two. Doyle added three assists and a goal in those outings.

COLLEGE HOCKEY (NCAA)

Alex Laferriere, Harvard Univ., Right Wing (83rd overall in 2020)

2021-2022 Stats: 13 goals, 11 assists, plus-11, 10 PIM in 26 games played

Harvard defeated Princeton 4-3 and then pulled off a 1-0 upset of No.4 ranked Quinnipiac Univ. Laferriere added a goal against Princeton with a tap-in and had three SOG against Quinnipiac.

Andre Lee, UMass-Lowell, LW/C (188th overall in 2019)

2021-2022 Stats: 13 goals, 8 assists, plus-11, 48 PIM in 28 games played

The River Hawks and Providence Univ. traded 3-2 victories in their back-to-back weekend tilt with the River Hawks taking the first game. Lee registered six SOG in those games.

Brock Faber, Univ. of Minnesota, RH Defenseman (45th overall in 2020)

2021-2022 Stats: 2 goals, 9 assists, plus-6, 12 PIM in 25 games played

Faber and Team USA were eliminated from the Olympic tournament with a dissatisfying 3-2 loss to Team Slovakia, which was decided in the shootout. He was a minus-2 in his team leading 25:45 of TOI. By tournament’s end, Faber would lead all skaters from any team that made it out of the qualifying round in TOI average and skated two and a half minutes more than the next closest.

Ben Meehan, UMass-Lowell, LH Defenseman (140th overall in 2020)

2021-2022 Stats: 4 goals, 9 assists, plus-7, 50 PIM in 27 games played

Meehan picked up a secondary assist in the first game and had four SOG in the second game.

David Hrenak, St. Cloud State, Goalie (144th overall in 2018)

2021-2022 Stats: 2.44 GAA, .908 SV % in 26 games played

Hrenak had a rough week as the Huskies suffered back-to-back defeats at the hands of the Univ. of Nebraska Omaha. Of the 18 shots he faced, he allowed six goals.

VARIOUS EUROPEAN LEAGUES

Samuel Helenius, LIIGA-JYP, Center (59th overall in 2021)

2021-2022 Stats
LIIGA-JYP: 1 goals, 5 assists, minus-7, 56 PIM in 34 games played
SM-Sarja-JYP U20: 0 goals, 1 assist, plus-1, 0 PIM in 1 game played

JYP did not play this week.

Aatu Jämsen, Finland, Right Wing (190th overall in 2020)

2021-2022 Stats
LIGGA-Pelicans: 1 goal, 5 assists, minus-1, 6 PIM in 25 games played
Mestis-Peliitat: 4 goals, 4 assists, plus-3, 4 PIM in 7 games played
SM-Sarja-Pelicans U20: 5 goals, 11 assists, plus-12, 6 PIM in 10 games played

The Pelicans dropped three games this week, extending their loosing streak to four. Jamsen register six SOG and was a minus-1 with a TOI average of 11:01.

Kasper Simontaival, LIIGA-KalPa, Center (66th overall in 2020)

2021-2022 Stats: 3 goals, 5 assists, minus-5, 12 PIM in 25 games played

Simontaival only played one game this week, logging 10:55 of ice time.

Kim Nousiainen, LIIGA-KalPa, LH Defenseman (119th overall in 2019)

2021-2022 Stats: 4 goals, 4 assists, minus-4, 20 PIM in 22 games played

Nousiainen returned this week and helped KalPa extend their win streak to three games. In the last game of the week, he scored a power play goal off of a tip.

Kirill Kirsanov, KHL-SKA St. Petersburg, LH Defenseman (84th overall in 2021)

2021-2022 Stats
VHL-SKA-Neva: 1 goal, 2 assists, plus-4, 0 PIM in 3 games played
KHL-SKA: 0 goals, 4 assists, plus-6, 4 PIM in 24 games played
MHL-SKA 1946: 1 goal, 2 assists, plus-3, 2 PIM in 3 games played

With the Olympics over, SKA has begun preparations to begin their quest for the Gagarin Cup.

Juho Markkanen, Switzerland , Goalie (112th overall in 2020)

2021-2022 Stats
SL-Ticino Rockets: 1.96 GAA, .920 GAA in 1 game played
Elit-Lugano U20: 1.00 GAA in 1 game played
LIIGA-SaiPa: 3.27 GAA, .873 SV % in 15 games played
SM-Sarja-SaiPa U20: 5.67 GAA, .790 SV % in 3 games played

Markkanen was once again moved, this time landing with the Ticino Rockets of the Swiss League, Switzerland’s second tier league. His first game was a 2-1 overtime loss.
