LA Kings Projected Lineup vs. Edmonton Oilers; Changes on Defense

February 15, 2022 By MayorsManor Staff

The NHL Trade Deadline is still more than a month away. There’s still more than two months remaining in the regular season; including 35 more games for the LA Kings. However, the impact and importance of tonight’s contest with the Oilers isn’t lost on any of the players or coaches.

In a super tight Pacific Division, it sure feels like there’s more than two points on the line.

Edmonton is coming off a 3-0 win in San Jose last night. They’ll go with Mike Smith in goal, while the Kings will counter with Cal Petersen.

Through the early days of his NHL career, Petersen has faced the Oilers twice before – holding a 1-1 record, along with a .922 save percentage.

The team in front of him will essentially be the same looking group the Kings were rolling with when they last played some 13 days ago, at least at forward. Several defensive changes are planned, with Mikey Anderson and Matt Roy now available; they’re returning from injury and protocol, respectively.
